ULI JON ROTH Rejoins SCORPIONS On Stage In France; Video Available
June 5, 2012Legendary German guitarist Uli Jon Roth rejoined his former band, SCORPIONS, on stage this past Saturday, June 2 at the Nancy On The Rocks festival in Nancy, France to perform the song "We'll Burn The Sky". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
During Roth's tenure as lead guitarist, main songwriter and occasional lead singer for the SCORPIONS, the band released four studio albums between 1974 and 1977. In 1978, the SCORPIONS released the live album "Tokyo Tapes", which was recorded in Japan and sold nearly one million copies and went gold in several countries. However, Roth had left the band before the album's release and was replaced by Matthias Jabs.
SCORPIONS' "Comeblack", a new album of classic rock covers and fresh performances of signature repertoire recorded last year, sold around 5,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 90 on The Billboard 200 chart.
SCORPIONS' last collection of all-original material, "Sting In The Tail", opened with 18,500 units to land at No. 23. This marked the band's highest chart debut in over 20 years. The CD also landed at No. 6 on the Rock Albums chart.
